Welcome Eighties Ladies

This blog is dedicated to the girls that I have known and loved for many years, my friends from the North Central High School Class of 1988.

Gina, Janie, Micki, Michelle, Kelly, Bobbi. There were others over the years, but you gals are the ones who shared my deepest secrets, my most cherished memories of growing up and the milestones of my youth.

Hey, anybody remember this old place?

Oh what memories we made in and around this place! From the lowly days of lockers in the annex or music hall (where the Freshman lived in isolation) to the throne of Senior Prom, Senior Skip Day and Graduation. This is the place we learned more than just school lessons, the place we blossomed into the women we are today, the place where we realized who our true and lasting friends really were.

I do love you girls. I think of you often and long for the good old days when life was simpler, laughter was easier and love was about knowing who your true friends were.

Various Places We Loved....

Who could ever forget this place? Gut Busters and Fries with tartar? Cruising Riverside always ended at Dick's and the hope of a new romance???

Can you believe I actually found a picture of this old place online??? Does anyone know if it's still standing and/or in business?

Football games will never be as good as they were here. What a blast!

Now I know you guys remember the old Coliseum - the circus, the Harlem Globetrotters, the basketball games. I've been to the new Arena, but it's just not the same...

The highlight of our teens...the driveinn. OMG, do you remember these old dinosaurs? The lines for concessions and, of course, the ladies bathroom! Remember giant tubs of popcorn, speakers hung on windows, boxes of wine coolers and Purple Passion and even the upfront playgrounds? And how about $5 carloads?

Humble beginnings...

Anybody else remember playing Dodgeball against that damn green rainbow? Or tetherball? Smear the Queer? Foursquare?
